最近の人事異動情報によれば、Rubinstein が退職してあとに Fadell が昇格、ほかにマック部門の Tim Cook が COO になるようだ。
iPod nano や video をめぐる最近の動きをみていると、Steve Jobs のいないアップルなぞ想像もできない。アップルが Steve Jobs & Co. とよくいわれるのも宜（むべ）なるかなである。
Jobs なかりせばという記事（Minority Report: What would Apple be without Jobs?）が出てくるのも Jobs の存在感の故だろう。
かつて Compaq にいた Tim Cook がアップルのナンバー２になったとはいえ、Steve Jobs は余人では代え難いと BusinessWeek はいう。
What’s more, Jobs is a tough act to follow. “They have the most charismatic leader in the business world, and Steve Jobs is Apple,” says Munster. “When he wasn’t there, Apple had a lot of problems. You can’t find a successor to Steve Jobs. There’s no one that could replace him, within the company…. It’s not what Apple is thinking. It’s what does Steve think.”
